BURGUNDY / TAPAS AT THE OLD HARBOUR

BURGUNDY / TAPAS AT THE OLD HARBOUR

If you want the quintessential Hermanus Old Harbour Walker Bay view and consistently superb meals, then Burgundy is the place to be. Set in the oldest building in the historical heart of the village, it also offers the best vantage point for people and whalespotting. Historically this building was home to the first wine tasting room in the region, built by Tim Hamilton Russell in 1985 and thus is the origin of the Hermanus Wine Route. The menu reflects seasonal produce from the region, line fish caught along the local coast and the chef’s passion for quality meat prepared from traditional, tried-andtrue recipes. The sophisticated and sassy interior décor has transformed the ‘traditional fisherman’s cottage’ into a sensual, classical and welcoming cosmopolitan space with an intimate and relaxing atmostphere.

BURGUNDY TAPAS: A recent extension of the Burgundy magic is Burgundy Tapas, situated next door to Burgundy Restaurant. Previously also a tapas restaurant, the venue has been revamped and re-energised under the watchful eye of chef-owner Rudolf van der Berg. Here you can enjoy our local Craft Beers, Wines and Tapas Cocktails. The Mediterranean-style tapas dishes include a host of veggie, cheesy, meaty, seafood and sweet options, all prepared in the Burgundy restaurant kitchen. On the special breakfast menu the options range from danish pastries and chicken liver crostini to a healthy muesli bowl with honey, Greek yoghurt and fresh berries and a steamed greens banting breakfast.
