Their son Jean-Pierre joined the business in 2005 as winemaker. In 2006 four cultivars were planted: Merlot, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. The Daneels feel like pioneers in the valley and are enjoying the challenges that this new area gives them.The wine tasting room is located in the renovated stable next to the deli, The Larder which is in a restored barn behind their restaurant, Reneessance. This main road property in Napier has led to a unique tasting room that has a sense of old and new. The old stable door was kept and the feeding trough has been turned into the counter. The combined styles are a true marriage of rustic and elegance.
