La Vierge was founded by Peter Clarke in 2004 on an amphitheatre of virgin soils on Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge – the highest appellation. Planted mainly with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, each block is exposed to unique aspects, yielding layered, complex fruit.
