This international award-winning restaurant is situated on the shores of Walker Bay and is carved into the depths of a century old cave extending over the rocks to the water’s edge.

It is in the heart of one of the best land-based whale watching areas in the world and overlooks the only whale sanctuary on the African continent.

The Southern Right whale visits our shores every year from May until December, and here you can sit on our deck, enjoying delicious food and drinking some of the best wines that the Overberg has to offer while watching whales lazing in the ocean mere metres away.

Built, as the name suggests, in a cave, the restaurant is predominantly a seafood restaurant but also caters for all dietary requirements and offers meat, poultry and vegetarian alternatives for non-seafood eaters.
